Why does my car's radiator boil over into the recovery tank even though it doesn't show to be overheated?

My Isuzu pick-up has begun boiling over into the recovery tank even though the temp gauge does not indicate it is overheating. What would be a likely cause of this? The thermostat seems to be operating. I can see the level of coolant drop in the radiator
bad radiator cap...you are not getting the correct pounds of pressure from the cap.....replace the cap and the problem will go away
