i have an 87 mercury cougar 3.8 wont start has symptoms of fuel starvation?
i checked the fule pump it works, fuel flows out of the fuel filter out end, and the fuel pressure regulator line in. it has spark and will start with starter fluid sprayed into the air intake but dies immediately after the starter fluid is used. plz
The pump is probably worn out there is a strainer on the bottom of the pump its a filter just for the pump this may be clogged I would actually just change whole pump assembly. Run some injection cleaner threw the tank after wards.
