Can I do my own Maintenance for Mazda cars?

I am looking to buy replacement car for my jetta diesel which was crashed by @#$%@$#. The maintenance for the Jetta was very expensive and complicated if I wanted to do it my self in my garage. Will I have the same trouble with mazda cars?

Like John said it depends on the vehicle. Stay away from Mazda 626, 323, and the RX series (unless your getting it new). Miatas on the other hand run great and are extremely reliable and cheap to run. MX3s and Mazda 6s are also quite good.
